La Posada goes to Chicago, USA. In November, 2005, the owners of La Posada sponsored an exhibition of Peruvian painter Alberto Soriano's works in a Chicago gallery. Pictured here are owner Jim Redd and the artist. Here are more photos from the event and here's a virtual gallery of his work.

April 17, 2007. Posada Girls Gone Wild! The staff worked like crazy during Semana Santa, so the least we could do was give them a day off, lunch, and a spa treatment. Shown are Faviola, Veronica, Fanny, Gloria and Elena enjoying the jacuzzi at Miramelindo in Rio Verde. More >

Biking Chimborazo! In December, 2005, La Posada owners Marshia and Jim, and long-time friend Michael Burton from Chicago, biked from Camp Whymper to Riobamba in an amazing 2300 meter (7100 ft), 52km descent through the paramo. Here are more photos of the incredible scenery.

April 10, 2006: The Elke Borghs family from Belgium. Elke married an Ecuadorian in Quito and brought her whole family to tour Ecuador on their "honeymoon." Here they're ready for a bicycle/rafting trip down the Valley of the Waterfalls.

December 1, 2006. La Posada Caters Art Opening with Tapas. Local Baños artist Edwin Barrera had an exhibition of art, music and poetry inspired by the recent eruptions of Volcano Tungurahua in his studio. La Posada del Arte provided hot tapas and "bocaditos" for the event. Shown is staff member Delia offering a coconut roll to owner Marshia.

January 10, 2007: Donation to Civil Defense. The eruption of Volcano Tungurahua in August, 2006 displaced dozens of families living on the western flank of the mountain. Many were still living in refuges in January, so La Posada donated a bike trailer full of bed covers to the local civil defense office, which distributed them to the needy families.
